Phyllis Harbinger, ASID, CID
Phyllis Harbinger, ASID, CID has been running Design Concepts/Interiors, LLC, her own design firm, since 1993, servicing both commercial and residential clients worldwide. She is as comfortable working on a suburban residence as she is on a sleek, modern city apartment dwelling, condo lobby or jewelry boutique. In fact, the combination of commercial and residential projects, along with the variety of locales and clients’ styles, creates a spark that fuels her creativity. Phyllis is also a Certified Feng Shui Practitioner, which enables her to integrate Eastern methods and theories of design and balance into her practice.
She is NCIDQ certified, and a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers, and has just finished her term as president of the NY Metro Chapter. Phyllis is currently serving on the National level as Chair of the Chapter Support Team and is also a tenured Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City.
Currently the Award-winning firm has launched an exciting new bookThe Interior Design Productivity Toolbox, published by Wiley, which will streamline the processes and systems for Interior Designers, Students and the Design/Build community. The book is now available on Amazon.com, Wiley.com and bookstores as well!
As a direct result of the success of the book, Phyllis and her team launched Harbinger Design Consulting, to further her work with Designers and the Design/Build Community, consulting with entrepreneurs and providing a unique set of tools with which they can grow and manage their firms. Marcie began her career in Operations Management for Chubb Insurance Company of Canada. She oversaw the operation of the Toronto, Canada office including facilities management and some 200+ employees. Upon moving to New York, Marcie began to focus on her true passion – residential design and appraisal. She worked for Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company as a residential appraiser for their Premier Properties in New York City and the Westchester area. After taking time off to raise two children, Marcie’s career then took on another dynamic. While working for a prominent GC/Builder of luxury homes in the Westchester area, she served as a Project Manager, overseeing the day to day operations of complex building and design projects.
With over 20 years in the design, appraisal and construction field we are happy to add Marcie as a Project Manager to our DCI Studio team.
